Charlie is a little different.  not in a bad way, but in a way that makes him stand out. sit on the side lines of life. Charlie sees things differently. for the better or worse. he has an unique innocence, and a maturity level far greater then other kids of his age. Written in letters to an anonymous person, charlie describes his deepest feelings, thoughts, and everything else that comes when he starts his first days of high school. It's an amazing coming of age story.

Read it. read it read it read it read it. Did that sink in yet? hmmm. Read that last sentence over again to make sure you remember. Actually, go add it to your to-read lists right now. go!

Okay, so you may be asking. What is making you act so strange and out of character Dana?
well.... That book is. It is seriously one of the best books I've ever read. Its hard for something to match up to that. every once in a while I read books that are just like. WOW. This was one of those books. I love this part of the original summary on the back of the book.

 It says:
Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

The book is just beautiful. Extremely, wonderfully, beautiful. I know this review doesn't tell you much, but this really is one of those books that is completely unexplainable. Their is no way I could summarize this book in a way that tells you just how awesome it is, their is no way. So I'm just going to tell you to read it. to go out and get it right now. You'll love it, and I promise you I'm not  going to be wrong.

so hope you all had a merry christmas.
XO, Dana
