Lisa is just an ordinary girl, until death came knocking at her door, literally. after trying to OD on her moms sleeping pills, it seems that Death has caught an interest in her, and has an interesting proposition for her. He will spate her life and in return she will become one of the Four horse men in the Apocalypse: the rider Famine. Lisa agrees, and after all it is fitting to give the power of famine to an anorexic girl. Her whole life is a struggle about hunger.

And after Lisa gets used to her new powers, she finds that she has a choice, she can spread famine like wild fire, releasing her wrath onto thousands, causing fear and chaos. or she can ease the hunger from others. but if only she could figure out that part of her powers yet... and on top of that James and Suzanne are starting to suspect that somethings up with Lisa's strict eating and obsessive workout schedule.
Although this book was quite thin, (180 pages) I did enjoy it quite a lot.

I liked how Lisa could see through "famines"eyes and see the horror of eating disorders that Lisa didn't quite understand. There was a difference between the two people, almost as if Lisa had a split personality, that was Famine.

It was different then a lot of the books I have read (and I know that I say that a lot, but its true)  I liked how Lisa  ***SPOILER*** decided at the end to overcome her eating disorder to cure the hunger of a lot of people, and I liked how she defeated War. ( that B*tch had it coming BTW...)

One thing that I didn't like was how Lisa didn't help Tammy (her bulimic friend) with her disorder (she kind of just left her, in her pain and such. (way to go Lisa) I also didn't like that at the end she quit at being Famine. Also I think it was strange how the only immortal horseman was Death, You'd think that things like War, Famine, And Pestilence wouldn't just get passed on like hand-me-down clothes. They're so powerful, that I would think they attach them selves and aren't just passed on.

But it does make sense with the book.

Well, see y'all.

  1. Thanks for this review. I am really looking forward to reading this one. It especially sounds interesting that Lisa can basically see outside of herself through famine's eyes.
