Rhine Ellery only has 4 years left, then the disease will hit, and she will die like every other girl in the world when she turns 20. Thanks to changes in the modern day human genome there is no hope for any woman to live over the age of 20, men get to live to the marvelous age of 25 before they too are taken. Scientists are frantic , Searching for a cure before humans become extinct. Meanwhile the general public is in a frenzy. Suddenly all the children are orphaned, prostitution is at an all time high, and polygamous marriages are the new norm. Rhine and her brother Rowen are just trying to survive, keep out of the cold. That is until Rhine is kidnapped and sold into a 5 way marriage. And suddenly Rhine is brought from a life of poverty and fear to one of wealth and privilege. Although her new husbands love for her is genuine, and the life she is living now is far better then the one she lived before, Rhine cannot forget her past, and longs to be free to re-unite with her brother. Escape is the only thing on her mind, and with the help of her faithful sister wives and her hansom personal servant, Gabriel, She will see her brother again.
I know It seems like a lot of the reviews I write are positive, and most of them are, But seriously, Wither is hands down one of the best books I've read in 2011. I was lucky enough to read this book in arc form so i finished it a few months ago and The second I finished the ARC I needed to get my hands on the second in the trilogy. I will be counting down the days until I can get my hands on the sequel next year. The world DeStefano made up was unique and completely Inventive. The book hooked me from the first page and I was quickly thrown down a rabbit hole of action, adventure, mystery and romance. Rhine's story was so real and captivating that I couldn't put the book down the whole time I was reading it.  I've never read a story quite like it and DeStefano did a flawless job. The characters were so real I longed to give them comfort, and although the story was unrealistic (it is a story after all) It was very easy to identify with the situations Rhine faced. Not to mention the gorgeous cover! If I were to give this book a grade it would be an A. It was so refreshing to have a book that's new and just plain good!

So go get it! right now! right this second! go teleport to your nearest bookstore and if your not into it by the first 5 chapters i will send you a batch of very delicious virtual cookies, baked with my love for this book!

And also for the next month or so this book is on Pulse it! So you can read it free on line if you become a member! Awesome right? just click the link!
