sequel to Shade
Genre- Supernatural
(amazon) (Goodreads) (shelfari)
Rating- 3.5

summery from goodreads-

Aura’s life is anything but easy. Her boyfriend, Logan, died, and his slides between ghost and shade have left her reeling. Aura knows he needs her now more than ever. She loves Logan, but she can’t deny her connection with the totally supportive, totally gorgeous Zachary. And she’s not sure that she wants to.
Logan and Zachary will fight to be the one by her side, but Aura needs them both to uncover the mystery of her past—the mystery of the Shift.
As Aura’s search uncovers new truths, she must decide whom to trust with her secrets…and her heart.

hmm. Shift was good. The only suckish thing was that i had totally forgotten a ton of the stuff that had happened in Shade, the first book. (other then general plot and such) I liked how Aura and Zach could sort of switch powers, and how Logan figured out how to have a human body. even if it was for only 15 minutes. Smith-Ready really pumped up the supernatural stuff, and thickened the plot loads.

and the ending was pretty good too. although I'm not quite sure what will happen in the next book in the series, there was no big cliff hanger.

I only gave it a 3.5 cause although it was a good ghost paranormal book, it just wasn't the best thing I've ever read, don't get me wrong though, I'm sure that there are tons of people who would love the novel, It just isn't my favorite...

Have a nice day!

Hanging on to max by margaret Bechard

Hanging on to Max by Margaret Bechard

Genre- Realistic Fiction

Rating- 4

Sam has always had everything figured out. He had a solid plan, a go to college become an engineer, get married... but all of his plans come to a standstill when his girlfriend Brittney tells him shes pregnant. Now over a year later Sam is left alone, attending an alternative high school with his 11 month old son Max. (Brittney left soon after Max was born, wanting nothing to do with him) Sam's Determined to make it work though, he cant leave max alone, an if that means giving up his plan, so be it. He will be a good dad!... he has to be.

Hanging on to max was definetly realistic, and I liked how it was from the dads point of view. It was intresting how everyone favored the mothers, or at least symphisided with them, yet when Sam came alone everyone assumed that he was doing everything wrong. I do think that its a good example of what teenage parenthood is, extreamly difficult, yet not unmanageable. Sam was Lovable, as was max. (:D) The story was great and the ending was oh so sad, yet agin realistic. The read was super fast. I read it in like 2 hours, and i would recomend Hanging on to Max to anyone and everyone. :)

see yall

Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton

Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton
Published by Simon Pulse
304 pages
genera- Romantic Realistic
(amazon) (shelfari) (goodreads)
Rating- 3

It's Anna's sixteenth summer and she is ready for a change! out with the lazy summers of working at her parents ice cream shop and swimming in the ocean with her two best friends Caroline and Sam. or now more appropriately CarolineandSam, because since they started dating they seem to be joined at the hip, a change that Anna's not so sure how she feels about. Anna's ready for something new and different. When Anna meets Will, a tourist from New york, she falls for him fast. Hes perfect, and wonderful, and they spend the summer in a blissful romance. Anna cant stop the lurking thought in her mind that in just a  few months will will be leaving her, back to new york and the busy world that Anna has only seen in her dreams. And she cant stop wondering whether one summer is worth the heart break.

Sixteenth Summer was super cute. Sweet as the ice cream that Anna is constantly around, and the perfect book to read directly after I read the bloodbath that was the last chapter of The Tower of Parlen Min. I read this on my laptop during the 2 day drive from Marco Island to Chicago and with sixteenth summer, the time went by fast. I smiled from ear to ear the whole time. It was great beach read and I'm glad that i read it. :)

You know that feeling where you need a cheesy romance novel, this one is perfect. It's simple and happy and supper girly. It's everything you'd think a book called Sixteenth Summer would be like, but with witty dialogue, great characters, and a cute little tourist town setting. I only gave it a three because this book probably isn't for everyone. I was in the mood for a sappy romance and this one was perfect for it. but this isn't the type of book I read a lot of the time, still great though! :)

Happy day!
